Our Mission & Philosophy
We believe every child deserves a safe place to explore, discover, and thrive. That’s why our mission is to provide high-quality early education that balances the warmth of a home-like environment with the depth of a future-ready curriculum.
Our philosophy is simple: children learn best through curiosity, play, and meaningful connections. From ages 0–5, we guide little learners through hands-on discovery, creativity, and social interaction, while nurturing their emotional well-being and independence.
We focus on developing the whole child—cognitive, social, emotional, and physical growth—so they don’t just prepare for kindergarten, they step into the future with confidence.
Meet Our Dedicated Team
Joann Warman
Director
We are delighted to introduce Joann Warman, our Sprouting Spot Director. A proud Marshfield native and graduate, Joann was raised on a dairy farm east of town with her parents and two sisters. She went on to attend MSU, where she earned her BS in Education in Home Economics, and began her teaching career at the high school in Dixon, MO, where she met her husband and raised her two children.
Joann brings decades of experience with children of every age: 26 years teaching high school Home Economics, 3 years teaching three-year-olds at Grow To Know Preschool, 17 years as the Child Care Coordinator for Cox Health, and 2 years at 1st Kids. In recent years her focus has been on infants through age five. “I love the smiles, hugs, and watching their faces glow when they learn a new skill,” she says.
Outside of Sprouting Spot, Joann is a member of the Marshfield United Methodist Church and the Marshfield Community Theatre Guild, and can often be found cheering at MHS sporting events. She loves to read, sew, cook, and spend time with her family and friends. She might retire one day, but there are no plans on the horizon—stop by for a tour or a visit; her door is always open.
Hannah Newton
Co-Director
We are pleased to introduce Hannah Newton, our dedicated Preschool Co-Director, whose passion for early childhood education is matched only by her commitment to creating a nurturing and engaging environment for every child.
With a Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education, specializing in Special Education, and a Master’s degree in Psychology, Hannah brings both expertise and empathy to her leadership. She believes wholeheartedly that children learn best when they feel safe, loved, and are having fun—a philosophy that is at the heart of our preschool community.
Beyond the classroom, Hannah is an avid reader, hiker, and kayaker who enjoys exploring the outdoors with her two children, husband and dog Bruce. Her love for learning, nature, and family shapes the warm, inclusive atmosphere she fosters every day.

Our classrooms and play areas are designed with children in mind: bright, safe, and full of opportunities for exploration. From age-appropriate activity zones to our outdoor discovery spaces, every corner of Sprouting Spot encourages curiosity, movement, and joy.
We uphold the highest standards of cleanliness and safety, giving families peace of mind while children enjoy a fun and engaging environment. Here, little learners build big memories—supported by caring teachers, loving routines, and a community that feels like family.
