About Sprouting Spot

Sprouting Spot is a future-ready preschool and daycare in Marshfield, Missouri, where children don’t just prepare for kindergarten—they build the skills to thrive in a changing world. Our programs serve infants, toddlers, and preschoolers (ages 0–5) through a hands-on, inquiry-based curriculum inspired by the Astra Nova approach. We integrate STEM exploration, Spanish and American Sign Language immersion, gardening, nature-based learning, and creative arts into joyful daily routines.

With small class sizes, a warm family-like culture, and educators who serve as true mentors, Sprouting Spot is the kind of place where teachers love coming to work and children love coming to learn.

The Role

We’re looking for passionate, caring Early Childhood Teachers to join our growing team. As a teacher at Sprouting Spot, you’ll play a hands-on role in shaping how young children experience learning—guiding discovery, nurturing curiosity, and building the kind of trusting relationships that help kids flourish. You may work across our Infant, Toddler, or Preschool programs depending on experience and team needs.

What You’ll Do

  • Create a safe, engaging, and developmentally appropriate classroom environment for children ages 0–5
  • Plan and lead daily activities rooted in hands-on, play-based, and inquiry-driven learning
  • Support each child’s social, emotional, cognitive, and physical development with intentional guidance
  • Build warm, trusting relationships with children and families through open communication and daily updates
  • Collaborate with fellow teachers and the Director to implement our future-focused curriculum
  • Integrate enrichment activities such as STEM projects, Spanish, ASL, music, gardening, and nature exploration into daily routines
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming classroom that meets all health and safety standards
  • Observe and document children’s progress, milestones, and developmental growth
  • Use positive guidance strategies—never punishment—to support conflict resolution and emotional regulation

What We’re Looking For

Required:

  • A genuine love for working with young children and a passion for early childhood education
  • High school diploma or equivalent (minimum)
  • Must pass a background check and maintain current CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain)
  • Strong communication skills and a collaborative, team-oriented attitude
  • Dependable, punctual, and committed to showing up for kids and coworkers every day

Preferred (but not required):

  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, or a related field
  • CDA (Child Development Associate) credential
  • Previous experience in a licensed childcare center, preschool, or daycare setting
  • Experience with inquiry-based or play-based curricula
  • Familiarity with Spanish, ASL, or bilingual education is a plus

What We Offer

  • Paid time off
  • Childcare discount for employees
  • Ongoing professional development and training opportunities
  • A supportive, close-knit team that feels like family
  • The chance to be part of something special—a preschool that’s truly building something different for Marshfield families
  • A joyful workplace filled with creativity, laughter, and purpose
